In southern California, the huge and apologetic Colorado Desert is not a place for a small chihuhua to survive alone. Nevertheless, it was a strict reality for cricket, a small dog fighting for food and water searching while navigating the danger of wild. Without the comfort or care of a warm house, he roams through dry landscapes, unknown about the danger surrounded by him. The Quets were hiding near, each passing time fighting to survive. But there were other plans for fate cricket – his story was about to take a twist to make it better.
The citizens of the concerned noticed that the small dog spreads into the dates fields and quickly contact California’s Animal Rescue Center and apply for help. Rescuers have not wasted any time to combine their gears, the determined to reach him before it is too late. Knowing that it would be difficult to get to cricket, they carefully set up a human trap filled with food, hoping that the hunger would draw him.
The plan has worked. Unable to resist the smell of food, cricket cautiously set foot on the crate, but as the door closed behind it, he was confused and overwhelmed.
During the sunrise, the rescue team came to see the horrible puppy tied inside the trap. Washing relief on them – Cricket was now safe from the dangers that threaten his life. As they approached, his big brown eyes fixed on them, filled with uncertainty and apprehension.
In the hope of intimidating strangers, cricket protests that he was not accustomed to people’s communication. Rescuers may say that he probably spent most of his life alone.
They took him to a shelter in Cochilla, California, where he got the necessary care. The situation in the harsh desert has kept him weak and malnourished and he needs immediate attention. High-calorie food was supplied to help to regain its strength, while asylum workers dedicated time to gain their confidence.
Initially, cricket was careful about its new environment. He refused to leave his crate, cautiously observed the people around him. However, as the days were spent, he realized that they could not do any harm, his fears slowly began to fade.
Two days after his rescue, curiosity got his best. Finally he took a temporary step from his crate, though he still kept his distance, not yet ready to touch. Despite his hesitation, his rescuers saw hope – he began to realize that he was safe.
The Animal Rescue Center in California is now looking for an experienced feather house where cricket can continue its journey to cure. Although he lacks socialization, he has not shown any signs of aggression. Deep down, he is a gentle and loving dog, who only need time to trust again.

The heartbreaking story of a person caught in the video is annoying by damaging a peat bull with a rod. This level of violence against a protective animal should be disqualified from the ownership of the organism or closer to the animal.
With the right home, the past struggles of cricket will become a distant memory. He deserves the future filled with love, protection and companionship. His rescuers are hopeful that the perfect foster family will soon come forward to give this little chihuua a second opportunity to give him the second chance.
