Kindness is often defined by activities that speak louder than words – which reflects true sympathy, self -esteem and a sincere desire to have a positive impact. People who show kindness that they go out of their own needs and comfort, take steps to help others without expecting anything in return, even if the cost is high. This form of true sympathy is rare and inspirational, reminding us that the activities of small, daily compassion are likely to make deep changes in both life and in itself.
For the past 12 years, Thain and Christine have saved more than forty -four senior dogs from the United States to the US -shelter. These shelters are often filled with power, of course, the animals need to make difficult decisions to euthanizing animals, the old dog often faces this fate. However, Thaion and Christine saw that these old dogs could still give incredible love and wanted to give their second chance to their happiness and care.
Keeping that mission in mind, they established the Gray Magl Rescue and Sanctuary on Orcus Island, Washington. This sanctuary was born from the intention to provide a safe and loving sanctuary where veteran dogs could live their lives in peace and dignity. The gray puzzle rescue and sanctuary is not just a shelter; It is a place where every dog is treated with love and respect. Thaien and Christine appear in person for the unique need of each dog, for the first time in their life, it shows what it means to care for the first time.
Lila, which is especially the promise of a couple, is Lila. Lila spent an unimaginable 14 year out of 14 years excluding without the freedom to go out or gain affection. When he was finally rescued, his condition was heartbreaking. Many years of stagnation had severely affected his legs, they almost attached to his body. His soul seemed to be broken, so many years were worn by isolation and neglect. But when Thayen looked at Lila, he did not see his injury or limitations – he saw the possibility of healing and experienced love that had been denying him for so long.
Lila was determined to help to regain some joy and mobility, Thayen found an innovative solution: she used a wheelbero to give her a way around the sanctuary. Day after day, he cautiously picked him up in the wheelbaro, allowing him to read freedom and companionship in his new environment. Lila begins to believe in Thayen’s daily love and support, her soul is resurrected to some extent. Under his supervision, he can finally feel the warmth and kindness of deprived for so many years.
In 2013, tragedy hit when Christine turned away from the terminal illness. Before he died, he made a last loving gesture to ensure that the gray puzzle was rescued and the sanctuary would continue his target. It was Christine inheritance – the promise that would continue the sanctuary, would provide shelter for the elderly dog who never knows love else. In honor of Christine’s steadfast compassion, Thayen continues to rescue, rehab and love every old dog, which travels to their sanctuaries.

Even as a person, Thayen has shown that it is possible to make a deep difference in their lives. Thien and Christine have not only saved a few dozen lives through their shared compassion, but have also changed the way we think about rescue animals, especially old dogs.

Here, they are not just numbers – they are a family’s favorite member, dignity, respect and care with care.
